Duties :
- Assist in the design of software with clearly defined functional requirements with the help of more senior software engineers.
- Designs software modules with clearly defined functional requirements without the assistance from more senior software engineers.
- Participates in group design discussions and provides concrete input to the design of complete product components.
- Understands design discussions that pertain to the interconnectivity of product components and major product subsystems.
- Makes changes to, or creation of, modules that are completely designed.
- Troubleshoots problems and makes repairs in familiar modules or product components.
- Changes need only be periodically reviewed by more senior software engineers prior to submission.
- Intermediate Proficiency in Software Development, Software Design, Software Testing, Software Configuration Mgt. Software Engineering Tools and Software Quality.
- Basic Proficiency in Software Engineering Process.
- Advanced Proficiency in Software Maintenance.
- Formulates and defines system scope and objectives for assigned projects.
- Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results.
- Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
- Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation.
- Has full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming.
- Has good understanding of the business or function for which applications are designed.
- Also has duties instructing, directing and checking the work of other system analysis and programming personnel.
- Responsible for quality assurance review.
- Responsible for directing and monitoring the work of team members
- May be responsible for project completion and user satisfaction.

- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within telecommunications industry.
- Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent and two or more years industry experience in related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience developing enterprise applications utilizing ASP, Scripting languages, Visual Basc, SQL.
- 6 + years experience in a software development environment.
- 3+ years utilizing C++ and/or JAVA programming
- Minimum of 3 years experience developing enterprise, web based reports utilizing Crystal reports, SQL Server, stored procedure development and data transformation.
- Technical training in MS SQL, Oracle, and other relational databases. Technical training in Network Topology and Administration.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related educational discipline preferred.
- Prefer at least one of the following: MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Oracle DBA, or MCDBA (Microsoft Certified Database Administrator) CNE – Certified Novell Engineer.
- Specific Knowledge:
- Visual Basic, ASP 3, ASP.Net, HTML, JavaScript, C, C++, SQL, SQLPlus, XML, TCP/IP programming, Oracle, Pascal, HTML, PERL, UNIX\ and VBScript. Project Management tools, such MS Project.
- Technical Documentation, Database flow charts, Data Dictionary, and Data Diagrams.
- Must have Portal/Billing system knowledge
- Demonstrated development proficiency in a UNIX environment, including writing shell scripts.
- Requires high degree of analytical skill for proper execution of the daily assignments.
- Ability to work effectively within a project team, with considerable creative, independent and original thinking
